What is our capability?

In terms of treatment options, Nexus Surgical Cancer Centre believes in the multi-disciplinary team approach, as very often, cancer treatment in today’s context requires a mullti-modality strategy, aimed at extending survival and improving quality of life. Besides meeting frequently, we also review research and medical literature so to as determine the most appropriate treatment for each patient, in order to achieve the best possible care for our patients.

Hence, besides the staff surgeons, the Nexus Surgical Cancer care team comprises also of:

  • Medical oncologists
  • Radiation oncologists
  • Interventional radiologists
  • Radiologists with interest in CT and PET CT
  • Pathologists
  • Nurse Clinicians
  • Nutritionists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Palliation physicians

In terms of surgical operations, working in teams allows us to handle even the most complex of operations, including those involving multi-visceral resections. Having a vascular surgeon on staff allows us to remove major blood vessels which may be involved by the cancer, since our vascular surgeon can reconstruct the major blood vessel.

We also work closely with Urologists and Gynaecologists with interest in surgical oncology.

We are supported by Anaesthetists, Cardiologists, Interventional Radiologists, Endocrinologists, Renal Physicians, and Gastroenterologists. They help us in managing some of the co-morbidities of our patients, as well as to support our patients after the operations.

Why choose us?

At Nexus Surgical Cancer Centre, there is always a dedicated primary doctor to coordinate our patients’ care. Our multidisciplinary approach allows our cancer team doctors to apply the skills of different cancer specialists from surgical, medical, radiation, nuclear and palliative oncology to determine the most effective and complete treatment for various types of cancer.

All our cancer specialists are highly qualified with in depth knowledge, skills and experience in both common and rare types of cancer. Our doctors will co-ordinate with different cancer specialists as needed in order to deliver the best possible outcome and cancer treatment strategy to our patients.
