BOWEL PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR COLONOSCOPY
A colonoscopy is a diagnostic procedure in which the inside of the large intestine (bowel) is examined. A colonoscopy is successful when the entire large intestine is visualized clearly, so that even small polyps are detected. Therefore, it is important that your large intestine be cleared of faecal matter.
To do this, it is very important to read and follow all the instructions given to you. If your bowel is not clean, your colonoscopy will not be successful and may have to be repeated, or it may be suboptimal in that small lesions may be missed.
